„… Segnet, denn ihr seid dazu berufen, Segen zu erlangen.“

Katechese: Unsere Beru-fung ist, Jesus, Sein Licht und Seine Liebe in die finstere, hasserfüll-te Welt hineinzutragen. Das geschieht durch das Segnen. Das Wort „segnen“ kommt von „bene dicere“ und bedeutet: Gutes sagen, Gu-tes weitergeben. Wenn wir segnen, dann segnet Gott durch uns und entreißt Menschen und auch Dinge aus der Macht des Bösen.

Überlegung: „Einer Kranken, die ihren Mann hasste, riet ich, ihn zu segnen … Ich bat sie liebe-voll, es doch zu versuchen: ‚Ich segne Dich, Du liebes Menschen-kind, im Namen Jesu Christi!‘ immer wieder, immer wieder … - Nach ein paar Wochen rief sie mich an und erzählte: ‚Ich habe Ih-nen zuliebe diesen Segen erst mal nur so daher geplappert … Und dann habe ich gemerkt, dass es immer leichter ging und immer ein bisschen mehr Herz mit hineinkam. Und nun kann ich es aus tiefs-tem Herzen sagen. Mein Mann hat sich sehr gewandelt; es ist al-les leichter geworden.‘“ (Ellen Paetsch)
